Pollyanna Johnson
Using Rural England as her stage Pollyanna Johnson strives to create an atmosphere of unsettling silence, in which we get a sense of something just happened, as if of a memory we cannot quite reach.
There is a beauty in the skies of the Fens and the curves of the downs which currently threaten us in her images. Defying easy categorisation, working across landscapes, still lives, and portraits, pencil proves a powerful medium for capturing these echoing moments.
